A container design is another way to use existing, recyclable materials, in this case, unused shipping containers. Both types are "modular" in as much as we design with an existing dimension and space, the overall home concept, will drive the final decison to use containers, or another modular system of building. Each have specific requirements and advantages, and we let to over idea drive the final decision.

Modular (also known as prefab) construction is much better suited to the challenges we face, building in Costa Rica.
The long rainy season causes challenges and delays for traditional building, not to mention destroyed roads from of all those cement trucks.
From our central, San José factory, we easily transport wall panels to any part of the country, while containers or factory built homes require cranes and nearby logistics. We know that the roads in Costa Rica, especially the beautiful areas, are not easy to get to.
